Coming from London and the East
Pick up the A27 by the marshland as you near Portsmouth.
Get into left-hand lane & follow signs for A2030 towards Southsea. This is the Eastern Road.
Follow this road until the very end where you’ll reach a large traffic light junction with cemetery on your right (Fratton Park football straight ahead). Turn left. This is Milton Road.
Go through 3 more junctions with traffic lights, past lots of shops until you reach another mini roundabout.
Turn right. This is Highland Road.
Follow this road for about 1.5km, cemetary on left by sharp double bend, pass more shops until the road becomes Albert Road.
When you approach crossroads with traffic lights, look to the right & you’ll see The Wedgewood Rooms (where the Gong Show is held) and large chemist! Follow the road down, as you pass the Kings Theatre on your left the road will veer to the right. At the large junction at the bottom you will see The Fat Fox directly on your right.
If you reach the seafront at some stage, you’ve gone too far south – Albert Road runs parallel to the seafront.
Coming from the West
Follow A27 towards Portsmouth.
Take Junction 12 – M275 towards continental ferries.
Get into left hand lane, signposted Fratton.
If you go across the big flyover you’ve gone too far!
At roundabout take second exit towards Fratton.
“Sovereigns” Travel Lodge straight ahead, pass Kingston Police Station on left.
At lights turn right. This is Kingston Road.
Pass shops, through 3 more sets of lights. (You’ll see St Mary’s Church on left at 3rd set). You are now in Fratton Road. Keep going straight until roundabout (Fratton train station on left). Straight ahead into Fawcett Road. Keep going until crossroads with traffic lights.
Left into Albert Road for the Edge of the Wedge (Wedgewood Rooms) on your left.
Right into Albert Road for The Fat Fox
Follow the road down, as you pass the Kings Theatre on your left the road will veer to the right. At the large junction at the bottom you will see The Fat Fox directly on your right.
